Language provides the means to shape our understanding of ourselves and our world. Students today read more than their parents and grand-parents and are increasingly challenged to navigate a multidimensional and fast paced digital environment. It is essential that students are equipped to meet these challenges critically and imaginatively.

The English Faculty at NBSC Cromer Campus is committed to meeting these challenges by delivering quality educational experiences to a diverse range of students ensuring the development of individual skills in a collegial and inclusive environment.

We regularly review our programming updating approaches to teaching and learning and mixing classic texts such as Shakespeare plays with contemporary novels and poetry.
Best Practice is followed in both teaching and administration to ensure smooth and appropriate learning experiences and outcomes for all students.

In the classroom teachers follow carefully prepared units of work that are reviewed and updated regularly leading to dynamic and evolving teaching and learning experiences for both teachers and students. Our learning activities are devised so as to maximise the opportunities for meaningful learning and engagement for all students.

All teaching units include opportunities for:
